The (FNHC) services touch the lives of more islanders than any other charitable organisation in Jersey, helping children, their families, the sick, the elderly and the dying. Our teams of highly qualified and experienced nurses operate a range of services including health visitors, home care, school and children’s nursing, district and specialist nursing as well as palliative care.
We are a forward-thinking, modern charity that has continuously adapted to provide the services Islanders need today. At FNHC we are passionate about delivering care that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
We believe everyone deserves access to the best health care support possible and we will always try to be there for you and your loved ones when you need us most.
The generous support that we receive from Islanders leaves a lasting impact on those that FNHC cares for, and allows us to provide a vast range of services to those who need it most.
Adult Nursing Services
Our Adult Nursing Team consists of a group of highly skilled District Nurses and Senior Health Care Assistants. They are specially trained to help care for you and your loved ones in times of acute or chronic illness, either in the comfort of your own home or at our purpose-built District Nursing Clinic.
We understand that many people prefer to be treated, where possible, within the security and comfort of their own home. Illness can often leave people housebound and in need of specific, tailored treatments, which is why our Adult Nursing Team is here to help during the most challenging times.
For those who need adult nursing support but do not require home visits, we have set up our own specialist District Nursing Clinic. This facility has allowed the team to expand the reach of its services, providing district nursing support to more mobile patients as well as the most vulnerable members of our community.
Palliative care is the active holistic care of patients with advanced, progressive and life-threatening illnesses. The goal of our palliative care service is to achieve the best quality of life and comfort for patients and their families.
Our Palliative Care Team embrace the core elements of supportive care, including the management of pain and other symptoms and the provision of psychological, social and spiritual aid. We provide support for treatment and condition management from pre-diagnosis, through the process of diagnosis and treatment, to cure, continuing illness or death and bereavement.
We are passionate about offering a support system that integrates the psychological and spiritual aspects of care and allows our patients to live as actively as possible until death. We also believe it’s vital to provide a framework for families that helps them to cope with the illness process.
This is just a selection of the community nursing services we provide in Jersey. We also provide Home Care, Health Visitors, Paediatric Nurses, School Nurses, Nursery Nurses, Community Children’s Nursing, Rapid Response Nursing, Crisis Re-ablement, specialist nursing for wound care, stoma care and respiratory care and Child Accident Prevention.
